I am planning to go there tomorrow. Do we need to call to reserve a table? My research shows that I should be ordering:

1. Claypot Chicken Rice
2. Deep Fried Tofu
3. Steam Pomfret
4. Hot Plate Venison
5. Herbal Duck Soup

Anything else not to be missed?

bobafett81 had posted Jimmy's mobile number earlier. Can we make call to make reservation and asked to prepare our claypot rice, as understanding that usually it will take at least 30min before the rice is serve to you.

Its a nice experience looking at how they prepared the rice the traditional way. Anyway I think they might obliged, give Jimmy a call to find out. Being a weekend, it would be prudent to reserve.

Herbal Duck soup might be too much if you are going in a small party, really potent stuff

My Recommendation:

Claypot Chicken Rice
招牌大条面 (KL Hokkien Mee)
Sweet Sour Pork
Salted Vegetables With Duck Soup
Famous Fried Tofu
Stir Fry Fallopian Tube

Instead of the famous fried tofu, try the tofu with 3 yolks. Interesting.

Just had that..... :)

Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Prominent taste of salted egg yolks on the skin and subtle century egg flavor on the tofu. Lots of pork lards, and minced meat accompanying it. Dryer instead of gravy.

Had the Steamed Cod Fish head with Black bean sauce. Very good. The Namyu deep fried pork is one of the best I had, very good balance of fat and lean meat. A little disappoint with the Duck with Salted vegetable soup, preferred it a little more sour than sweet.

10dishes for 14 pax at $250
1) Duck with salted vegetable soup
2) Nam Yu deep fried pork
3) Steamed cod fish head with Black bean sauce
4) Claypot rice
5)Pan fried prawns ( Gon jin har lok ) - rather disappointed.
6) Tofu with 3 yolks
7) Claypot Beef ( asked for this instead of hotplate) - not too bad, at least no oil splattering around.
8) Stir fried falopian tube
9) Yao Mak Choy ( kind of vege like lettuce) with fu yu sauce
10) KL Hokkien Mee

BTW their homemade liang teh is pretty nice too.

I had the Nam Yu deep fried pork before... don't think it is nice... not enough meat.

I shall try the Claypot Beef and Tofu with 3 yolks and Steamed cod fish head with Black bean sauce!!!

BTW, do try their sweet sour pork... really good leh!

Sweet and Sour  Tried it once and it was fresh and juicy unlike those at some tze char stall where they pre-fry the pork and when somebody orders that dish, they fry it again with the condiments.

Also had 咕噜肉 (Sweet and Sour Pork). It's amazing how the pork cubes are still crunch on the outside despite being coated with the excellent sweet sour sauce! And the inside of the pork is very juicy too!

Already described liao
