Singapore Street Food Masters in Central Park Come 21st of April this year, the air around Wollman Rink at Central Park in New York will be scented with the smells of 12 of the best street food of Singapore. In celebration of the first ever Singapore Day in New York, the street food masters like Tian Tian Chicken Rice, Katong Laksa, Outram Park Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh, Casuarina Roti Prata, Alhambra Satay, Boon Tat Street BBQ Seafood, among others, will be warming up Central Park to reconnect and rekindle with the Singaporean community in New York. The day's celebration includes performances by top Asian singers from Singapore, exhibitions on its latest developments and business information and opportunities. The event is organised by the Overseas Singaporean Unit and the soul street food experience is designed by Makansutra. Each of the street food masters will be set up in hawker kitchen booths with equipments that best replicate their operations in Singapore. Many of these food hawkers are officially recognised and awarded by the Singapore Tourism Board and Makansutra as "Street Food Masters" and "Hawker Legends" in Singapore.
