Nonya Popiah

Skin this good can't be
found in exotic sites but the Glory behind this skin is made
with eggs and it wraps the lemak Nonya styled ingredients
beautifully.
If a popiah seller
has got his ingredients just right, there is chance that he
can get it all wrong if he wraps it with a bad popiah skin.
Imagine
tasty
turnips and carrots with dried shrimps softly stewed in fish
or chicken stock, garnished with crushed peanuts, eggs, prawns
garlic, fresh lettuce, sweet fruit sauce and chilli
all
wrapped up in a spring roll skin that tastes more like a sheet
of A4 fax paper!!
This Nonya version
(bangkuang soaked in fish stock) at Glory is tightly packed
in with all the ingredients. The skin used is soft and is
fresh. We particularly like the egg skinned version - more
lemak to the bite!
Caution - sometimes
when the owner is not free to roll it personally ( he packs
it tightly and full), it could be a bit of letdown when some
of his inexperienced workers does it, especially when the
shop is busy.
