Long time no see, thank you, you, tv and me. KF Seetoh recaps the past few months of active inactivity on the site

Hey folks , I'm back.

Yet again, I have to apologize for not having enough time to tickle your tastebud fancy on the site. As you probably notice by now, the site has a facelift but there's still not a whole lot of people behind this site and we aren't really reaping in the moolah by running makansutra.com. But I am very encouraged to know that there is such a large and ardent following of our food culture and most of you are such a natural lot.

To the "die,die must try" members, some whom we've never met before but are now Makanmatas, (you know who you are) I salute the support you've given us. It is a joy working with and feeding you.

Yes, they put my lard-o face on TV and admittedly it was fun and I hope that this surprise was pleasant for you too. I pray it is…cos ' the nice folks at TVWorks are repeating the entire series and will be putting me back in your face with a brand new series of Makansutra, probably in November this year. There, I've warned you!

While all this is taking a toll on my professional photography schedule and the amount of personal time I can spend on the site, I will nevertheless continue to take nice pictures and eat good food … and live to tell stories.

And to all the natural food culture vultures and makan maniacs hanging out here, I'll say that I will continue to do my level best to keep this community abuzz. The zealousness of some of the members here overwhelms me. As such, we take that first step and present to you this revamped site (how's the graphics?). The good news here is that it is basically the same - the hungry bulletin boards, the editorials and reviews and any zany, relevant or irreverent information. The Blur section, will contain a cozy selection of some of the more popular listings of Makansutra 2001.

While this will rile the "die, die must get freebies" members, I hope you understand that we are only trying to recoup some revenue. We can only give you so much. If you still need free listings of our entire new guide…there's always the library, the browsing copy in the bookshops and friends who have bought the book.

Then there's the "die, die must irritate others" members, I suggest that you get you kicks and vent your frustrations elsewhere. A lot of members have written in to complain about these oddballs. We are monitoring them. As such, I am inviting all die hard kakis and matas to alert us of these frustrated cybersouls and inform our webmaster Yuen Ho at contact@makansutra.com. He will bar, remove or reveal them. To these oddballs…if you have nothing to do, don't do it here. I suggest that you do not invoke the ire of this seriously hungry community here.

So, to all of our fans and friends…LET THE FEASTING BEGIN.!!!
