There's hope for good bak kwa besides Lim Chee Guan and Bee Chun Hiang

Don't want to waste time queuing for the most popular bak kwa in Singapore at Lim Chee Guan and yet yearn to have a good bite of bak kwa during this Chinese New Year period? We suggest an alternative at Tan Teck Guan. We hear from the grapevine that an ex-employee from Lim Chee Guan mans this stall, so maybe he's brought a skill or two in good barbecuing to this shop.

The lowdown:

The bak kwa doesn't come in thick slices and are quite well marinated. The meat slices are grilled till pretty hard and yet remain a little tender, so it makes chewing very easy. This bak kwa is also not drown in loads of sugary sweet marinade, and so, it's appealing to those who don't have a sweet tooth.

Verdict:

If you are not interested to queue at Lim Chee Guan, this is a rather good alternative.
