How does it sound to you? If the cycling and calorie loading zeros out each other, then, you've got nothing to lose except a chance to participate in The Y2K Makan-Cyclethon, jointly presented by Makansutra and SingNet! The interesting cycling route we've planned for you includes fabulous eateries that are rated "Die, die must try!" by Makansutra 2000, the new millennium edition! At each checkpoint, we've arranged for you to have some fun by dropping makan clues and fun surprises to help you find answers and win great prizes. The police (MakanMatas) will be doing their patrols, so don't play cheat !!!
To participate in this millennium makan-cyclethon, simply form teams made up of 4 cyclists each. All through the trip, we will be looking out for winners for the Sexiest Butt, Best Legs and Biggest Tummy Contests as well as the Most YaoKwee (eat non-stop) Team. Each contestant will be given a fun pack - a copy of Makansutra 2000 filled with clues, a map and a goodie bag - to start off. Here's the deal we are wheeling out for you:·
- You start off at the big field
near Bouna Vista MRT station at 7 pm
- Burn about 1 km to a yummy plate
of Penang cha kway teow (no cockle type, just well-fried
Ipoh kway teow and prawns -this hawker has fried nothing
else for the last 12 years!)
- Then, burn it off by cycling
3km for your fix of durian puff (3- chopsticks stuff!).
We guarantee that you will crave for more...
- Burn another 3km to your plate
of soft and heavenly plate of carrot cake (make themselves
type), OR a gut seducing plate of fried prawn noodles (fella
formerly fried his noodles at Cuppage).
And finally,
- Head on another 6km towards
a charming seaside eatery for your last surprise (we've
reluctantly revealed this secret outlet just for you). For
those who have been waiting to pig-out, this is your moment!
All earlier stops are simply bite-size treats to whet your
appetite.

RULES
AND REGULATIONS
- Each team must complete the application
form and pay the fee of $19.99 per person.
- Participants must wear helmets for safety
reasons.
- Please bring your own bikes and helmets.
- Participants must wear the designated souvenir T-shirt at all times during the event.
- Participants must follow the planned cycling route and not break away during any stage of the event.
- In the event of a rain, the cycling trip may be cancelled and participants will have to follow the course of action made by the organisers.
- Participants are to attend a compulsory
briefing prior to the event so as to submit the entry fees
and be briefed on the event. Details of the briefing will
be announced to interested participants on a later date.
- The organiser reserves the right to limit
the number of entries and this will be done on a first-
come-first-serve basis.
- Registration fee is non-refundable.
- A failure to comply with any of the above rules and regulations will result in a disqualification for the event.
